As a co-founder and Director of Core Technologies at High Impact Games LLC, I directed technology decisions as well as wrote key systems on our three released titles for Sony:
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
Secret Agent Clank
Jak and Daxter: The Lost
Frontier
My responsibilities included not only writing engine code but defining technical requirements, architecting key engine components, scheduling and delegation of related tasks
Implemented skinned animation system supporting multiple layers and blending, with
time critical sections written in MIPS and VFPU assembly
Wrote our in-house rigid body physics engine with constraints, including a very fast convex
polyhedron collision algorithm based on Voronoi regions.
Implemented sound engine and associated GUI tools for the sound designers, as well as a
custom dictionary-based compression engine for fast loading of assets.
Wrote a custom MPEG video player for in-game movies
Wrote in-house GUI tools for sound designers .
