Designed, built, and programmed the "UAV HUB" / RF modem. This is the communications link used on several drone aircraft I've been involved with. One modem is placed on the aircraft, and the other in the ground station. This allows command and control and an optional digital video downlink at ranges exceeding 100km.I designed the RF section, laid out the entire board, and wrote all software on this project.

The modem board specifications are:

5 servo PWM outputs, same as your standard R/C receiver

5 Watts of RF power in the 430 mhz HAM/ISM band.

Auto channel re-negotiation if interference or other users are detected.

Automatic power adjust ( 0- 5 watts in based on RSSI)

-105 dbm sensitivity at 500 kbps

LNA and SAW filter for superior selectivity and sensitivity

USB Device port for connection to embedded PC

High speed LVDS serial port connection to other hardware (IMU/GPS)

20 frames/sec live video at 320x240 nominal. (5 fps @ 640x480)

USB Video Class Device support (Webcams)
